Maui Relief Efforts
CORE is honored to serve as a resource for restaurant employees with children who face a life altering health crisis, death, or natural disaster. Currently, CORE is working to raise more funds to help restaurant employees with children impacted by the Maui fire disaster.
If your family meets the following criteria, please apply for financial relief below.
The applicant or spouse must be currently employed in the food & beverage service industry.
Applicants must have at least one minor child living in the same home as the food & beverage service employee who is a legal guardian/parent.
Children up to 22 years-old may be acceptable if currently enrolled in higher education (college or vocational program). Families who have adult children who are medically dependent on their parents due to physical or intellectual disability may also apply. Documentation required.
For natural disasters, CORE provides a CORE VISA gift card that can be issued electronically to quickly put dollars in hand. Visit CORE’s Resource Center for Natural Disaster support organizations.
Job Assistance
To assist our Maui community Altres launched HireMaui.org, a free job board created in partnership with the State of Hawaii Department of Labor & Industrial Relations and various community organizations. HireMaui is exclusively focused on providing employment opportunities for Maui residents impacted by the wildfires.
The hope is that HireMaui.org will serve as a central hub for employers around the state to connect with Maui workers, fill needed positions in every industry, and help get our community back on its feet.
Please visit HireMaui.org if your organization has any open positions, and you are interested in possibly filling those positions with candidates from Maui.
